#5. Make Your Content Shareable

If you have just started your blog and are looking to get eyeballs to your website, then creating shareable content should be your first call of action.

Did I hear you ask, “But Sam, how do I create shareable content for my blog?’

Well, it’s quite simple.

Below is a checklist of how to write shareable content:

  • Research shareable content via BuzzSumo (I already talked about BuzzSumo below).
  • Tweak your headlines in a way that makes them attention-grabbing
  • Write long and engaging content
  • Make use of quotable quotes (I use the Better Click to Tweet plugin to create tweetable quotes. ClickToTweet is another good tool)
  • Make use of social sharing tools like Social Warfare, SumoMe, or even Jetpack Social Sharing (I use the latter on this blog, coupled with my blog theme’s social sharing function) so that your website visitors can easily help share your blog posts with their network of social media friends.
  • And lastly, make sure your post is really skimmable and scannable.

Based on a considerable amount of research, I’ve come to find out that the majority of online users and surfers skim and scan blog posts.

In a nutshell, if you are going to write a blog post that scores high on social shares (And social shares or social proof have recently become one of the SEO ranking factors), you’d then do well to infuse all of the above points into your next blog post.
